Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, born Camilla Rosemary Shand on July 17, 1947, is the Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms.
Before her marriage to Charles, then Prince of Wales, Camilla was largely known for her prior relationship with him. They first met in the early 1970s.
She married Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973 and they divorced in 1995. They have two children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes.
Camilla married Prince Charles in a civil ceremony on April 9, 2005. Upon their marriage, she took the title Duchess of Cornwall. Following Charles's accession to the throne on September 8, 2022, she became Queen Consort.
As Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla focused her public work on promoting literacy, supporting victims of domestic violence, and advocating for animal welfare.
